Our adult hip-hop dance class is Choreography. Participants learn a well-rounded breadth of dance fundamentals. We introduce them to the dance foundations of Jazz, Hip-Hop, Contemporary dance, and beyond.
We structure our Choreography hip hop dance class to rotate weekly through various choreographers and styles to keep things interesting.
The values behind On One adult hip hop dance class are a Commitment to Quality, an individualized Mentor-Student Relationship, and providing Classes for All Ages with plenty of variety. That means everyone willing to try their best is welcome.
We assess our instruction methods to ensure they are beneficial to every class participant. In addition, our mentors are active in their own trajectories of learning to become better dancers and teachers. This enables them to meet every student where they are, from beginners to experienced dancers, and offer everyone a chance to learn and grow.
On One’s hip hop dance classes are divided into three stages:
Choreography I welcomes anyone who’s ready to learn their dance basics. You’ll have fun exploring the San Jose dance community, basic movement and techniques.
In Choreography II, students begin to test their mastery of Level 1 skills. Your techniques, choreography, concepts, and comfort with the foundations will advance. By teaching new dance styles and nuances like texture and musicality, On One mentors will push you to challenge yourself and build your confidence.
Choreography III is designed to stimulate very competent dancers through a demanding pace of learning choreography and intense work on individual skills. This hip-hop dance class is intended to make good dancers better by pushing the envelope and finding their unique voice.
Small Group Hip Hop Dance Classes
TAG stands for Train, Aspire, Grow. Our TAG lessons are an opportunity to learn in the highly focused, up close and personal way that a smaller group permits. The small group setting of TAG enables mentors to give their students individual attention and coach them on their specific dance goals
What are the Benefits of Hip Hop Dance?
Because hip hop dance engages the whole body and mind, it’s a holistic way to improve fitness, cognition, emotional state, and mental health all at once:
Body
In hip hop dance, each move utilizes the whole body, from head to toe. Since it gets the blood flowing, the heart beating, and the lungs working overtime, hip hop is great for the cardiovascular system, physical stamina, flexibility, and core strength. Staying active through hip hop dance can even keep one’s joints in healthy condition.
Mind
Physical and mental health are closely connected. The rigorous movement in hip-hop dance classes eases stress and dysfunctional emotional states by letting the mind attend to something constructive and stay in the present moment.
Hip hop dancing’s mental and emotional benefits extend far beyond the studio. Learning these concentration and regulation skills improve people’s performance in a wide range of academic, work, and daily life tasks.
