What Is A “Mentor”?
Minimum Qualifications
- Ages 18+
- 4+ years of dance training experience in an educational institute or dance organizations
- 1+ year dance instruction experience
- Active on one of the following social media: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube
Engaging & Personable
- Charismatic: easy to connect with; inspires natural respect
- Friendly: approachable, warm, and creates an inviting atmosphere
- Well-spoken: articulate and skilled in public speaking; communicates effectively
Mentor Mindset
- Work Ethic: show up consistently, build community in the room, and commit to helping dancers grow over time
- Integrity: embodies Passion, Community, and Growth; supports artists and safe spaces

A Day In the Life
What’s Involved?
Quality Choreography
Regularly make new 0:30–1:00 choreography to teach the right skills and techniques for your assigned class level.
Provide Additional Feedback
Become a mentor to our students by offering extra advice and knowledge after your class.
Promote Your Classes Online
Show our current and prospective students your work, your style, and your art.
Process
How We Select Mentors
1) Apply
In your application, please send a dance-specific resume as well as your portfolio of work.
2) Interview
If selected, we will schedule an interview with the Program Manager and gather availability for a slot.
3) Offer
If selected and schedules align, we will send an offer with a timeslot to you over email.

FAQ
What is the weekly time commitment?
All Mentors will be scheduled to teach at least 1 bi-weekly or weekly class. Each class is 80 minutes in length. Mentors will also need time to prepare for their class which can vary from mentor to mentor. Lastly, Mentors may need on average 15–30 minutes a week to read updates, fill out availability forms, and correspond with management.
How long of a term will I be teaching for?
You will be able to teach your slot indefinitely as long as your teaching slot continues to align with studio goals and needs.
How does payment work?
Mentors are paid on a per-head basis. The more students you have, the more you are paid!
If I am denied, can I apply again?
Absolutely! We welcome all who are qualified to continue to apply.
