“From dancing along to my favorite music videos to my Just Dance days – to jumping into my first junior Hip-Hop class, I knew that dance would never leave my life. I started taking dance as a serious hobby in High School, after successfully auditioning for the departments advance performance group. From the guidance and support from my dance teacher Ms. Stevenson and some amazing peers, they’ve helped shape what dance is to me. Some of the fondest and most pure moments I’ve had with dance would be driving out to random locations with nice lighting with the homies to freestyle late at night Currently dancing under Training Ground, based in Westlake.“

OOS: How would you describe your dance style?
If I had three words to describe my dance style, it’d be Flow, Movement Exploration, and RnB.
OOS: What are your dance goals as a mentor?
As a mentor, I hope to dive deeper into my own movement exploration to not only challenge myself but the communities I reach. A big one for me is focusing on being the better teacher, not dancer, ensuring the best experience possible for my students. And of course, ensuring a safe and fun environment for anyone that decides to take class.
OOS: What will your students learn or experience in your class?
Students that take my class will dive deeper into movement exploration. As I will provide the bare skeleton and steps to the choreography, students will have the freedom to tack on their own personality, flavor, and movement identity. As a product of the community, being surrounded by many support systems, I only hope to reciprocate that to my students, providing as much feedback and support they need!
