I started ballet and jazz at a very young age. It was in highschool when I wanted to dance like Janet Jackson and Paula Abdul. Then I got to dance professionally at the age of 20 as part of an all-girl group/ recording artists in NYC. A few years later when I briefly lived in Manila, Philippines for a few months, I got to help choreograph TV shows & corporate events. After becoming a mom, dancing became a way for me to keep fit. It wasn’t until 2011 when U-JAM Fitness founder and creator, Susy C. approached me and encouraged me to start teaching. A year later in 2012, I became a certified instructor. I taught at dance studios and fitness gyms. Then in 2014, while visiting family in LA, I took my very first GROOV3 class that was taught by its founder and creator, Benjamin Allen. Two years later I got certified as an instructor and I am still having a blast teaching today.

OOS: How would you describe your dance style?

My dance style is hip hop, 90s style grooves with a sprinkle of jazz funk & Flygirl vibe.

OOS: What are your dance goals as a mentor?

To add more flavor to my own style and making it my own. (GROOV3 is choreographed by different instructors within the GROOV3 community and I am happy to have recently joined the choreography development team, which has been a personal goal.)

OOS: What will your students learn or experience in your class?

Hopefully, they will develop confidence and break free and also learn how to encourage other fellow students.

GROOV3’s mission is to inspire change and build community through the power of dance. It is the idea that dance can positively affect someone’s well-being which is then spread to those around them.
