What can students expect?
In this PW, students will work together to put on an entertaining performance that not only looks good, but feels good on their bodies too. Through this 10 week process they will gain tools to learn how to balance style and ease to look effortless in their movement and try new things that they wouldn’t usually be able to do in a single class setting. The ultimate goal is to create a memorable space where we can all push ourselves and each other to do the best we can and continue that momentum with our dance journeys long after it’s over!

What can students expect?
Students will learn to apply their preexisting skillset in choreo and heels dance to a sassy, sensual, and exciting intermediate level performance at Open Floor. We will be focusing on learning, blocking, and cleaning an intermediate level heels set. Throughout the process, we’ll work on refining our movement, facials, understanding of the set, and connection to the other participants of the performance workshop in order to feel prepared and confident in bringing the set to life on stage. The main things I want my students to take away from this experience are to 1) become comfortable and develop their confidence in executing sassy and sensual heels movement and 2) feel proud of delivering an excellent performance on stage.

Students can expect a fun, energetic, and supportive environment designed to uplift and empower. We’ll focus on building confidence and cultivating a healthy relationship with dance and performing through beginner-friendly foundational training and set-building, along with conditioning to build strength and endurance. Students will receive tools that will not only build their confidence for show day, but can also be carried into future classes and performances. This space will be built around encouragement, connection, and growth—both individually and as a team.

He is also a current member of The Company. With over 10 years of experience in the dance industry, he has expertise in both performance and choreography.
What can students expect?
We will be focusing more on performing and learning how to do it. Finding the perfect balance of having clean pictures but at the same time, having a deep pocket and patience with the music. We will also tackle some texture switches and level of execution.

About Marky
Marky is a dancer from Sacramento, but now lives in San Francisco since 2022. He is an OG member of Black Flag, joining in 2019. With the crew, he has performed at Sacramento Kings games, dance exhibitions/competitions, and in music videos. Since moving to the Bay Area, he started teaching regularly at studios like On One, and has been co-directing performances by LGNDS Studios at events like Prelude NorCal and World of Dance. He aims to expose as many people as possible to the Sacramento style in the Bay Area and encourage people to not be afraid to dance differently.
What can students expect?
With my workshop, my biggest goal is to provide a safe environment, where students will have fun making a set they’re proud of while growing in the process. We will be focusing on the aspects that make my style unique, such as bouncy grooves, animation techniques, the contrast between the two, and overall embodying the music. Finally, i just want students to gain confidence, find their individualism, and not be afraid to dance differently!
