Hip Hop Dance Classes for All Skill Levels and Backgrounds

Whether you’re entirely new to dance, you have prior hip hop dance experience, or you’re already a dancer who wants to try something new, you’ll find the hip hop dance classes you’re looking for at On One’s Choreography classes.

Youth and adults ages 13 and up can sign up to experience a weekly rotation of choreographers and styles of dances. Our Dance Choreography program presents students with aspects of Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop Dance, and more to establish and build on foundational skills.

Our variety of high-quality instruction levels and styles for all ages and our mentors’ individualized approaches ensure that each student gets what they need.

There are three stages of Choreography classes available to suit your precise level and pace of dance learning:

Choreography I

All are welcome to enjoy an introduction to hip hop dance fundamentals. Students will discover the foundations of hip hop movement, rhythm, grooving, and other techniques in an approachable atmosphere. Choreography I also gets new hip hop dancers acquainted with the community.

Choreography II

The purpose of Choreography II is to nurture the emerging skills from Choreography I. Fundamentals practice, techniques, and choreography increase in complexity. Instructors increasingly emphasize other dance concepts such as texture and musicality. The instruction in Choreography II borrows from various styles to increase students’ dance vocabulary.

Choreography III

Experienced dancers can refine their craft by participating in Choreography III. Distinguished Bay Area dancers mentor participants by honing specific skills and picking up the pace of lessons. In addition, students in this class will be able to discover their personal styles.

CLASSES WE OFFER

While students interested in hip hop dance will feel at home in Choreography class, we have a wide range of courses that live up to different dance style preferences.

STREET & CLUB STYLE TECHNIQUE

The mentors are well-versed in street dance history and skills and are active in the local and international street dance community. Through detailed instruction, Street and Club Style Technique classes build up popping and KRUMP fundamentals and techniques on a knowledge of their historical context. Students can become acquainted with the art of freestyling on the dance floor.

K-POP DANCE

In K-Pop Dance Classes at On One Studios, K-Pop fans can learn the style and techniques to emulate their favorite idols. They’ll adopt the stage presence and moves to explore their passion on a deeper level.

GROOV3

Groov3 fitness dance classes use the dance floor to boost students’ confidence. Groov3 keeps attendees moving energetically in a fun and motivating environment.

MONDAY NIGHT WORKSHOP

MNW is a masterclass of excellent local and international dancers and choreographers. They come together at MNW to inspire Bay Area dancers and share their mastery with the greater dance community.

Small Group Dance Lessons in Santa Clara

Train, Aspire, and Grow is the mission statement of TAG dance courses at On One Studios in Santa Clara. At eight ninety-minute private training sessions once per week, the small group format gives mentors the chance to pay special attention to students’ needs.

This goal-oriented setting helps students who are serious about dancing sharpen their skills by identifying and addressing their weaknesses.

Online Dance Choreography Classes

On One Studios’ online dance choreography class is called Break It Down, open to all dancers from beginner to advanced. Anyone can benefit from purchasing an engaging online course that teaches from the ground up.

The mentors behind the online instruction are available to answer questions, and students keep the course material to re-watch it whenever and wherever works for them. A new, carefully-designed course comes out each month.

Can I bring someone with me?

On One Studios is one of the foremost Santa Clara dance studios for adults and youth. So we invite anyone age 13 or older to sign up and attend hip hop dance class or any of our other dance classes. If you and the person you’d like to bring are inexperienced in dance or already competent dancers, we have the perfect classes and teachers for you.

How long are the dance lessons?

All Choreography, Groov3, K-pop, Street and Club Style classes are an hour and twenty minutes. TAG sessions and Monday Night Workshops are an hour and a half.

Are the dance lessons beginner-friendly?

On One has plenty of unintimidating classes where beginners can feel empowered to learn and grow as dancers. Classes are guided by some of the finest dancers and best hip hop dance choreographers in Santa Clara, who are accustomed to personalizing instruction to beginners.

Are there any requirements for the dance lessons?
