Besides the typical year of ballet, jazz, and tap my parents put me in as a kid, I started dancing my sophomore year of high school when I took Dance 1 for PE credit. From there, I joined and became captain of my school’s Varsity Pom Team, where I specialized in jazz, lyrical, and contemporary. In college, I became involved in beginner open-style dance teams and was a founding member of Starchrome, a K-pop cover team that I helped lead my last year of college. Since graduating, I’ve been working for local South Bay studios, teaching competitive and recreational jazz, contemporary, ballet, K-pop, and more to all ages!

Hey y’all!

OOS: How would you describe your dance style?

My style is a mix of all my backgrounds. Sometimes it’s slow contemporary, sometimes it’s super upbeat jazz funk, and sometimes it’s a weird mix of both and more!

OOS: What are your dance goals as a mentor?

Despite loving dance ever since I was a kid, I only started really training later in life due to finances. My goal is to emphasize that it’s never too late to start your dance journey and everyone, no matter your background, deserves to dance.

OOS: What will your students learn or experience in your class?

In my class, students can expect to learn a piece not bound to any genre! Each class, one can expect to hone in on a particular skill, depending on the focus of the specific session.
