“I first started dancing in 2011 in my high school dance company, AGHS Dance Company. Throughout my college years, I was a part San Jose Hip Hop Club, that is still active today. From then to now, I was fortunate enough to join and train with a handful of competitive/project teams including: VIP San Jose, Archive, and Academy of Villains. I am a co-founder and current member of Commonality (CM), as well as a current member Tribe Crew.”
OOS: How would you describe your dance style?
I would describe my dance style as fluid. I consider my style to be very dependent on the music. I love to experiment with textures and musicality when I can, but I ultimately allow the feel of the music to guide my approach to the movement.
OOS: What are your dance goals as a mentor?
My main goal as a mentor and instructor is to provide a safe space for dancers to feel open enough to express themselves confidently, experiment with movement, and have fun in the process.
OOS: What will your students learn or experience in your class?
Students taking my class can expect an environment that embraces everyone’s individuality. I encourage everyone to celebrate and support each others uniqueness and I structure my classes in a way that stresses that.
