PERFORMANCE WORKSHOPS

A 10 week series dedicated to intermediate/advanced level dancers from June to August.

This is your opportunity to be trained and directed by one of our mentors in an intimate setting and perform on stage with your peers.  You will spend 10 weeks preparing a set for the annual Open Floor showcase on August 23, 2025.

  • Increase your understanding of details
  • Build your stage presence
  • Spread joy and your passion for dance with others

Gain confidence in your own skills!

Performing for an audience requires a dancer to step out of their comfort zones and into an environment where all eyes are on them. Once you get out there, you are forced to trust yourself and be confident in your own skin. It can be scary at first, but through this experience, dancers grow into their best selves who believe in themselves.

Connect With Others

Through this experience, dancers will learn that everyone’s role is important and that cooperation is KEY. There’s something so valuable about working as a team and forming a connection while preparing for a production on stage.

What can students expect?

In this PW, students will work together to put on an entertaining performance that not only looks good, but feels good on their bodies too. Through this 10 week process they will gain tools to learn how to balance style and ease to look effortless in their movement and try new things that they wouldn’t usually be able to do in a single class setting. The ultimate goal is to create a memorable space where we can all push ourselves and each other to do the best we can and continue that momentum with our dance journeys long after it’s over!

Paulina has been teaching heels and sensual movement since 2020, and currently teaches around the Bay, including regular slots at Revel Room Studios in San José and SilKi Movements Studio in Oakland. She’s choreographed for and/or performed in the following shows as a soloist or with Collective POV, Double Ts, and/or QTZ: Chopsticks Alley Art CreativiTEA Open Mic (2025), DAM Events DAMsf (2025, 2024), Onyx Dance Competition (2024), Revelween Showcase (2024), Vibe With Me Showcase (2024, 2023), Full Out Studios Showcase (2024, 2023), and On One Studios Open Floor (2023).

What can students expect?

Students will learn to apply their preexisting skillset in choreo and heels dance to a sassy, sensual, and exciting intermediate level performance at Open Floor. We will be focusing on learning, blocking, and cleaning an intermediate level heels set. Throughout the process, we’ll work on refining our movement, facials, understanding of the set, and connection to the other participants of the performance workshop in order to feel prepared and confident in bringing the set to life on stage. The main things I want my students to take away from this experience are to 1) become comfortable and develop their confidence in executing sassy and sensual heels movement and 2) feel proud of delivering an excellent performance on stage.

With my workshop, my biggest goal is to provide a safe environment, where students will have fun making a set they’re proud of while growing in the process. We will be focusing on the aspects that make my style unique, such as bouncy grooves, animation techniques, the contrast between the two, and overall embodying the music. Finally, i just want students to gain confidence, find their individualism, and not be afraid to dance differently!
